An explosion at an army ammunition store in western Slovakia on Friday killed two people and wounded dozens, local media reported.

"According to preliminary information, two people are dead, five are seriously wounded and 40 others have slight injuries," the official TASR news agency quoted Defence Ministry spokesman Vladimir Gemela as saying. TASR said the explosion occurred near the town of Novaky at an army facility used to deactivate ammunition such as mines and missiles.
