      It just takes one strain on a flight and we have a serious problem. Ebola is highly contagious, true it kills quick but it's the qurintine that is preventing the spread.

      yes.. a patient who "escapes" via an airport must be the nightmare of every WHO staff member. What I meant, is that the fact, that Ebola starts in africa without western traffic roots saves us. But I really believe, that it kills so quickly, that its not staying below the WHO-radar... unlike to SARS some years ago. Thats why you have not that many deaths.. seldom more than 100 per outbreak.

      Could you imagine if an Ebola strain had an airborne transmission AND an increased incubation period of perhaps days...or even weeks? THAT would be a fucking nightmare.

      actually this is one of my nightmares too. incubation time of weeks and infectious after days... and have it start in india. And the world goes down the road..
