Stun grenades exploded near JN1 reporters -- our
correspondent and cameraman -- during Land Day protests near the West Bank
checkpoint at Qalandiya. There were a few Palestinian youths several hundred
yards away as well as some passing motorists and Palestinian medical personnel,
and it was not clear why the Israeli riot police threw the stun grenades near
the media.

  • Another day another repetition of the ongoing cycle. I would have thought that after 64 years the Palestinians would have realised that sending their children to provoke soldiers isn't really the best idea. Palestinian politicians should have realised by now that firing tens of missiles daily at Israeli civilians on a daily basis makes it impossible for the rest of the world to feel sympathetic to their plight.

    • @dkast Yes, Israel have bigger and better guns. My point is that the Palestinian tactics have had no effect so far. There is debate to it's origin but a fairly apt quote is that "Insanity is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different results". It may be time for different tactics after getting nowhere with the current approach for 2 generations (or 4 generations in parts of England with high teenage pregnancy rates).

      I honestly have no suggestion of what they should do. I don't think that peaceful protesting would have any effect. But, Israel seems more than capable of killing Palestinian children without Palestinians helping them by putting their kids in danger's way.

      I think they (Palestinians) have reached a point where their only real course of action is to accept the situation as it is. I will say right now that I don't think I'm a big enough man to do that myself but until the UN and More..
