FEMEN unleashed their brand of “sextremism” in Istanbul on Sunday. Members of the group gathered inside a polling station in the district of Uskudar, removing their tops and chanting anti-government slogans. Security was quick to react to the protest.
With polls opening on Sunday for Turkey’s municipal elections, bans on Twitter, YouTube and a number of high-profile leaks over recent months have fixed the spotlight on the ruling AK party. Uskudar is Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's constituency. The FEMEN members had "BAN ERDOGAN" written on their chests and backs.
