Chris Costa, with Travis Haley, showing you how to speed reload your AR 15, from Magpul Dynamics: Art of the Tactical Carbine Vol., 1. As you'll see, this is MUCH faster than an ordinary administrative load since this method is combat oriented. If you're doing this at a range, please follow all range rules and basic firearm safety rules at all times.
Here's the tl;dw breakdown:
1.) When you pull the trigger and nothing happens, roll the gun over and visually inspect that the bolt is locked to the rear and the chamber is empty.
2.) Roll the gun to your support side (off-hand side) while pressing the magazine release button. The centripetal force of rolling your gun over should expel the empty magazine from the gun.
3.) Firmly insert a new magazine into your gun's magazine well. Give the magazine a quick smack on the bottom and a tug to confirm that the magazine is locked in.
4.) Either hit the bolt release paddle with the heel of your palm, or press the bolt release paddle with your thumb. Bring the gun back up to aim.
