These two Nascar drivers were killed within days of each other. Bonnet died on February 11 1994 and Rodney Orr
was killed 3 days later, on February 14 1994. Sorry for all the
watermarks, the original guy making these public was a real poser. And
also sorry for all the hairy ass and weiners in the pictures. I didn't
make these sets of autopsy photos.
was a NASCAR driver. Originally from Robbinsville, North Carolina, he
lived in Palm Coast, Florida, at the time of his death. He was the 1993
Goody's Dash Series champion. However, before he could gain mainstream
success, Orr was killed in practice before the 1994 Daytona 500.
He gained attention again after the death of Dale Earnhardt when his
autopsy photos as well as pop star Lisa Lopes were displayed on the
internet. Dale's widow Theresa testified before Congress to ensure
Earnhardt's autopsy photos (or anyone else's for that matter) would not
be published in a similar fashion.
The big difference between Bonnet and Orr is Bonnet was obviously alive when they brought him into the hospital, and Orr
was DOA. The reason is the obvious medical devices (EKG leads, IV
tubes, breathing tubes, etc) present on Bonnet. They do this to include
any life saving attempts in the autopsy report. Orr,
on the other hand, was taken right to the morgue with his racing suit
still on. When a driver is obviously dead at the scene (like Orr),
the medical crew goes through the "motions" of "saving" the driver so
as to not upset the racing fans (remember, nobody was ever pronounced
dead at Disneyland or any NASCAR tracks). They did the same thing to
Charlie Jarzombek when he was killed instantly at Martinsville.
The gaping hole on Orr's upper chest and the deformity of his face tells us the enormous impact he took.
