Minnesota Democratic Representative Collin Peterson appeared last week at an event sponsored by the Campus Democrats at Concordia College. After the event, Kate Engstrom, a member of the College Republicans, and a friend filmed an encounter with Peterson in which she asked about Minnesota Concerned Citizens for Life dropping its endorsement of Peterson over his support for Obamacare, which places various requirements on employers, including those with religious affiliations, to cover abortion and contraception under the health insurance plans they must offer to employees. Peterson shrugged off the lost endorsement, calling the MCCL "a bunch of extremists," before dismissing the organization as basically a "partisan organization" at its "end".

After Engstrom posted the video to YouTube, she was called into a meeting by a university official where she was upbraided for filming and posting the video. Engstrom's adviser told her that people high in the university were angry with her actions, and the university's president, William Craft, had already apologized to Peterson for the video.
