  • I am usually for the cops but for speeding was all that worth risking the lives of the community for a speeding offense.

    • @bionut - my 1st thought.

    • @bionut When someone runs from the cops, there could be other reasons. For all the cop knew, the driver could have been fleeing a murder scene, he could have been racing to kill someone, or he could have just abducted a child he plans to abuse and then kill....

Cops are there to catch criminals, not to play the odds that it was just an idiot trying to avoid a speeding ticket. They dont have the luxury of being wrong.

If the cop didnt chase and a bad, violent criminal got away, you'd be hypoc More..

    • @dmarlow310 Well dont know where all that anger and the STFU came from. I worked DEA for years and I can tell you that we have called off chases with known fugitives and did multi car distance surveillance to prevent these kind of situations. Compounding the issue with a possible civilian death will never be a positive outcome in any case. I have meet people who would chainsaw your family just for talking so I dont need your lecture on my opinion thanks anyways.

  • The public was greatly endangered in that chase, and all for a DUI? If he was a serial killer that would be one thing, but a DUI? If he was under the influence of anything it enhanced his ability to drive.

    • @Yukon6400 Holy shit, you are the first comment I read and I agree ABSOLUTELY. This really is not okay and it is a shit storm tragedy waiting to happen. Lucky there wasn;t a child on the street.

  • I feel like unless this suspect was considered a very high threat to society....it was highly unnecessary to speed like that in a residential area. The risk is just too high and unless that suspect was a dangerous killer or somebody who was likely to kill, I feel strongly that the chase should have been called off.

  • doing 70 mph through a residential area... Should've pulled off the chase easrlier. Simple luck that noone was killed.

  • here's what absolutely fucking kills me about this video: i drive a major set of roads and highways everyday to and from work. the amount of people who have seemingly just decided to stop using their signal lights all together is disgusting. specifically the bmw/merc. group. but a guy trying to outrun the fucking US cops, in a fucking cavalier, has the decency to use his goddammed turn signals.

i welcome any kind of apocalypse at this point.

  • It's a cavalier, your not escaping in that P.O.S.

    • @piyoti
You wouldn't "escape" in a Ferrari either. It's not 1930 anymore-- it's not simply a matter of making it to the county line.

    • @picklethepug I think with a better handling, faster car, he could have gotten away. He crashed by himself a few times while the cop was lagging behind. I have a p.o.s cavalier and the brakes/handling are complete crap.

    • @picklethepug All depends on how the chase started and where it started. You must break contact within the first 90 seconds.
The only 2 "chases" I've every be part of..
      1) involved max speed for 60 seconds 185mph and 2 turns.
      2) right turn into a hidden slip road. max speed 40 mph. 30 second.

I have to agree runners through narrow streets with no plan not likely to work but the Cav was a 3 blocks out on the cop car but because of it's lack of top speed it was unable to hold that di More..

    • @picklethepug
Afraid to tell you that you are wrong. A good crotch rocket pilot will be going 200kmh in six seconds from a standing start. Thats well out of radio range within a very short time. Leave area, slow down. Stop or go far away.

Then again people can do runners on scooters in the middle of the city. Nothing is impossible, you just have to know how and where to go.

  • crazy chase but you know you need a faster police car when you can't catch up with a cavalier on a straight away...I know they weigh a lot but no need to give them crappy motors.

  • See that kids. Don't hide your drugs in your cigarette pack. Excellent chase for a chevy cavalier.

  • Busted.
It's truly a miracle nobody got killed. I hope they throw away the key... I don't give a fuck about his conditions.

Nobody forces you to take drugs at gunpoint. You've got NO excuses for this behavior.
