Both at fault, but the driver has the ultimate responsibility on checking his surroundings. When I'm driving, if my load is too big to see around, I go in reverse. Makes it much safer to see what I'm doing.

This is why you always keep the load as close to the ground as possible. I don't know who trained these people to use a forklift, but they did a horrible job.
I've been a forklift driver for 15+ years. And yes, I've seen some bad things.

@fearsyth Also honk your horn when going around blind turns and if you cant see over the load drive in reverse to improve your line of vision. Both men did things wrong but ultimately its still the forklift drivers responsibilty to be aware of their surroundings.
