Bub the Zombie is more than just Fred Thompson's undead doppelganger. Fred and Bub have quite a few things in common. Here's a pop quiz/fact sheet to test your Fred/Zombie knowledge...

1) Fred Thompson... While Bub clearly remembers what a telephone is, we never saw proof that he could actually use a working phone.

2) Fred Thompson... In a recent interview, while answering a question about Iran, Thompson said, "I'm afraid that the Soviet Union & China are not ever going to do anything that's going to hurt them that badly but we need to ratchet those up if at all possible."

3) Both... Thompson is a Republican, so this goes without saying. Bub also has a gun, and he's not afraid to use it.

4) Fred Thompson... Bub has been known to pick up a book every now and then, but he can't actually read.

5) Bub... I have my suspicions about Thompson, but until someone produces incontrovertible proof that he's a cannibal I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

6) Both... Fred Thompson appeared in "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner; Kevin Costner appeared in "JFK" with Kevin Bacon. Sherman Howard (aka Bub) appeared in "The House on Carroll Street" with Mandy Patinkin; Mandy Patinkin appeared in "Ragtime" with Elizabeth McGovern; Elizabeth McGovern appeared in "She's Having a Baby" with Kevin Bacon.

7) Neither... Fred Thompson used a red pickup truck as a prop during his 1994 Senate campaign. Even though he pretended it belonged to him, in truth, the red pickup truck was a rental.

8) Both... Sherman Howard made a guest appearance on "Law & Order" in 1999. Fred Thompson is a series regular.

9) Thompson... Fred Thompson successfully lobbied for the passage of the Garn - St Germain Depository Institutions Act. This legislation was a major contributor to the savings and loan scandals of the 1980s. The S&L crisis cost U.S. tax payers $125 billion.
