Thats where 1917 Revolution took place and Imperial Russia came to its end.

Built over 300 years ago by Peter the Great, the founder of Russian Navy, a guy with the big vision and plans for the future. The city was built as a port city, to open access to European trade routes.

It was also considered as the heart of Russian culture, the mother of Russian organized crime and is my home town that i didnt visit for 20 years :)

The city stood under German siege for 2.5 years, never been captured and stopped the invasion.
