"Five" sounds alot like "Fire" skipping it is a safety measure.

Huh, that is probably correct. I was going to post asking what happened with five. Thanks for the pre-answer.

If that was true, it wouldn't make the american forces look any brighter. In fact, that would make them look even dumber. Ten.. nine.. eight.. seven.. six.. duh.. FIRE!

Too bad we all have to pay for it...not just you.
We'll be giving these systems to Egypt and Pakistan in a decade or so.

Then why don't you GTFO of America, and go cry about it in Pakistan? I'm sure they'd be thrilled to have you.

Sadly, I'm one of the few REAL patriots who realizes this and gives a sh!t.
Whats your sorry ass excuse?
You obviously don't care.
You probably thought selling F-14s to Iran was a great idea too?
How about giving Stinger A.A missiles to the Afghani's?
Yep. You mindless American fu@ks only think for the moment and not what happens ten or twenty years from now.
Can't wait to hear your excuse.

? Didn't they already use something like this many years ago? I saw in liveleak in use. Did a great job. Why are they showing this test now? Or is this a routine test?

Be really good if technology could go as far as to safely (I know these system already exist but they just shoot at and kill anything) mount infra red/microwave/heat sensing etc., detectors with auto lock on, one Phalanx mounted on each corner of the base, on a set arc of fire so anything that is 'non friendly' that moves after dark or during an attack external of the base - phaaaaaaarp - it's totally wasted - downside is how would you make it safe from firing on friendly/NATO troops?

this thing can actually knock mortars, arty shells, and rockets out of the sky. not really useful for ground-level defense.

The navy uses these on ships. Sounds like they are considering using them to protect land bases too.Just a shame your average mooj isn't going to attack in a fighter plane.....
