I was in Prudhoe Bay when it was 60 below. They left all the heavy equipment running 24/7 because it took hours to get them warmed up enough to start again if they turned them off for any length of time. In just a day or two a piece of equipment could become encased in 6-8 inches of ice and frost, which required special crews with steam guns to thaw them out.

yup, northern canada like that also, i hate mornings, your truck is a icebox, if it starts, fucking batteries, fuck the anti freeze, give me a battery that wont die, i actually cover it when it's cold with a old bed cover, (under the engine) keeps it 10c warmer so i can get a charge, i hate doing it but saves me from slamin my head when it won't start.

@Kitten_Mittens actually yes ;p no fire, but when i had my other cover it was small and just covered the battery, so figured it out when i was headed to coffee and it started to smell like ass, the one i have now is pretty big and leave a bit on the outside just for my brain lol, but i prob throw a belt since its a older ford, then have a fire.
