Here is an update and some footage afterward on the catastrophic events of the last 20-02-2010 in the Madeira Island.

There is at least 42 deaths, 4 people still missing and 250 homeless.

According to BBC one of the dead is a British Citizen.

Despite some concerns the interior of the Island with their massive and impressive mountains wasnt so affected by the floods.

Comunications, water supply and electricity are still failling in some areas. There is at least one shooping mall in downtown Funchal with all 3 subway parking floors covered by water.

The Airport resumed today all flights.
