A 1930's documentary recording the civil engineering feat of the decade, the building of the Boulder Dam (later renamed The Hoover Dam) over the Colorado River. Produced by the US Dept of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation.
Not to be confused with a film I uploaded a couple of years back on the same subject. That was a three part Silent film whereas this is a Full Colour black and white film with Sound Commentary. Great footage of the construction techniques and of the hard physical work involved building the two river re-routing tunnels so as to be able to work on the river bed. The amount of material moved by men and machine was awesome even by todays standards.
This is a Long Film but probably worth it esp if you enjoy building work and watching concrete being poured ...
