POLICE have charged two teenagers
with Sunday's four-hour chase across southeast Queensland in which they
allegedly stole a council ute and drove at speeds of up to 160km/h.

Police will allege the two young men, aged 16 and 18, stole the vehicle from Boundary Rd, Richlands, about 10.15am yesterday.

The ute was eventually stopped by stingers on the Warrego Highway at Lockyer Creek on Sunday afternoon.

An 18-year-old Riverview man will face the Richlands Magistrates Court
today charged with four counts of fail to stop motor vehicle, two counts
of wilful damage of police property, two counts of dangerous operation
of a motor vehicle, and one count each of stealing and unlawful use of a
motor vehicle.He will also appear on other unrelated charges.

(btw please note that here in Queensland there's a policy that police are banned to chase the car directly, it was followed by a news helicopter).
