Sunday's motorcycle charity ride Toys in the Sun Run was supposed to be a happy holiday event but a crash caught on tape showed it was a rough ride for some of the cyclists.
Lidieth Gil, 33, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition Sunday morning after the motorcycle she was riding on was struck from behind near the I-95 overpass at Racetrack Road in Pompano Beach.
Gil was ejected from the motorcycle, a 2001 Yahama. The driver of the Yahama, 58-year-old Edward Contreras, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle that hit them, 37-year-old Antonio Martins, and his passenger, 20-year-old Janice Martins, also suffered minor injuries.
Spectators on the overpass caught the impact on tape.
