Former Madam Fleiss Played Role In DA's Arrest

PAHRUMP, Nev. -- Former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss said she called police Tuesday night to report a suspicious person outside her home, leading to the arrest of Nye County District Attorney Bob Beckett.
When a sheriff's deputy arrived, he said Beckett was drunk behind the wheel of his county-owned vehicle and that he failed a number of sobriety tests at the scene.

Fleiss, who operates a laundromat in Pahrump, told FOX5 she has had problems with people stealing her birds and also worries about stalkers, given her notoriety.
Tuesday On FOX5 News At Five: Fleiss’ Connection To Beckett
Beckett, 49, has been out on bail since a May arrest on charges of embezzlement. The four-term district attorney is accused of siphoning money from an account in his office in the form of “donations” to charities and groups supported by his friends and family.
A defiant Beckett refused to drop out of the Republican primary and lost in June, gathering only 9 percent of the vote and placing fifth on the ballot.
Beckett was also arrested in 2008 after a crash on California Route 127.
He failed a breath-alcohol test and was charged with drunken driving but got no jail time after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving.
