Location : The Silent Pool, Shere, Nr. Guildford, Surrey - a particularly beautiful spot, and exceptionally silent! The highest of two lakes and is spring fed and has peaceful blue-green water. The lower lake, Sherbourne Pond, was created in 1662 but Silent Pool is thought to be of sacred importance dating back centuries.

The ghost, otherwise known as "The Ghostly Lady of Silent Pool" is said to be a beautiful young girl whose name was Emma. Awoodsman's daughter, she
dates back to Saxon times and she is said to have
demise, it seems was caused by her fleeing into the water to escape an attacker.Another account says she is the ghost of a 13th century girl, who tried to escape the clutches of the notorious King John
