In Downtown Los Angeles, crowds scampered about for stolen money that was thrown out the window during a car chase. At time the people seemed to impede the police, as the police, and crowds, chased down the car, obviously the intent of the robbers.
The crowds were large during, and after the arrest, and there was a sense of anger that could have escalated into a riot. A large contingent of LAPD came in as a back up, while groups of onlookers clapped and cheered the bad guys. Some bystanders perhaps, watched the event with stolen money in their pockets.
One lady interviewed said she was happy that the criminals were caught, but she was also glad that the criminals gave something back to the community! Many, many, cellphones were out, and without doubt, there will be a multitude of videos. The police appeared to be on their best behavior, and did an excellent job in crowd control, and keeping the situation from escalating.
