There is a city.

Once a year on august 1st, the people of Warsaw pay homage to the
fallen heroes that fought for freedom in 1944 during the Warsaw
Uprising. The biggest rebellion against German Nazi occupation during
WWII cost over 200 000 lives and destruction of the capital.

    • @darkglobe
That is exactly why the Warsaw uprising happened. They knew the red army was coming, just outside the city gates and so they rose up to fight the Germans and anticipated the Russians arriving any day to back them up.
Stalin deliberately halted his army and waited it out to sit back and watch both of his enemies (remember, Russia also invaded Poland on the same day the Germans did) eviscerate each other so that he could advance upon the aftermath of their battle.
      Stalin left the Polish More..

  • This shows a people with actual national pride and remembrance. If only our people would take a moment to care about others, remember the past to prevent it from happening again.

What happened to all those flags, gatherings, unity in the months and couple of years after 9/11. Everyone's gone back to life forgetting the horrific attack on our country. Sure, every September 11th everyone remembers for a few minutes while its on the news. But today, who actually really remembers on Pearl Ha More..
