  • @ tai Mai Shu, problem isn't the food. It's us.
Most of the Weatern world has no 'tolerance' for real food anymore. Nearly everything we eat is treated to be safe, taste good, cook quick and last in the fridge.
Same thing applies with colds, flus etc.
Let your babies eat soil and play in the dirt...

  • In Vietnam anything freshly cooked is probably O.K.

Avoid fresh uncooked vegetables especially salads.

Never ever have a drink with ice in it.

    • @DEADBEEF Yes, freshly and fully cooked I would try most of it. Check out the live fish (or prawns?) in the tank that they cook fresh and serve. Don't worry, these cooks aren't doing any of that sadistic japanese crap where they torture the fish first. The banana fritters looked like they were straight out of the State Fair of Texas.

  • Anyone that criticizes this food or cooking style obviously considers "cooking" going to Wendy's or sticking a frozen pizza in the oven.

There's nothing unsafe in the way they're preparing this food.

    Ignorant idiots.

  • I have Chinese food at least once a week. I'm lucky enough to have a small Chinese grocer 5 mins from my house.

Their curry powder sells by the bucket load to restaurants all over Edinburgh, and they do bags for the public at only £2.80 for 500g.

Fresh bean sprouts and bamboo are like 10 times cheaper than Tesco. Also, 35p for some super tasty noodles that you can only tell the flavour by the pic on the bag. I FUCKING LOVE THEM. =D

  • Making me so hungry. The food in Vietnam is excellent. Cheap as hell. Nutritious and made with freshest ingredients. Traditional markets there are full of WEIRD stuff

  • food, in the open air with people of questionable hygiene and personal habits, in ANY country, makes me not so hungry.

    • @Yogsoggoth Well, they eat most of the rodents, insects and other animals that attacks food. The only concern is that they cant see bacteria to eat it and thats the only reason I'm not eating their food.

  • No footage of the world famous Pho noodle dish?? hehehehe (no sarcasm, Pho is a vietnamese dish I can literally eat everyday)

  • I'd eat that. With my world travels, I've got enough bacteria in my system that would kill anything.

  • If you talk the the Vietnamese in the US they will tell you not to eat the street food when to go there. These food are very unsanitary and could make you very sick. Before they go back they will go get a shots to prevent them from getting sick. This is coming from Vietnamese American who knew their country well.
