bare hand broke bricks, granite, and iron: Chinese martial art Qigong

Martial art Qigong

Skeptics regard Qigong very similar to hypnosis, which mainstream scientific concepts cannot explain. They think that Qigong as a placebo effect or health promotion is useful, but claims to obtain supernatural abilities (such as the film shows) were not confirmed by scientific experiments.

As for the qigong paranormal proponents, they often cite Qigong has some special phenomena reported repeatedly, in the past decades, China has invested much to research Qigong as it is part of Chinese traditional practice which is easy to access and to observe, however, the results still contradict present physical theories. It can also be think that mainstream science theory is not yet perfect though reports and studies from mainstream science have serious doubts about Qigong experiments.

Like Yoga, the original of Chinese martial art Qigong has profound relationships with ancient religions, to acquire such abilities needs practice of meditation, rogation and other skills to integrate mind and body (consciousness and soma). So don’t imitate without training.
