Allegiant Air Flight Makes Hard Landing In Florida

(03/29Thursday featured some heart-stopping moments for the passengers aboard an Allegiant Air flight as it made a emergency landing at Florida's Sanford Airport.

The jet's front landing gear did not come down, so pilots had to set it down on its nose. Moments after the jet stopped emergency crews converged on it on the tarmac.

The only injury reported was one passenger who twisted an ankle coming down the exit ramp.

An airline spokesperson says that Allegiant Air flight 7-58 was heading to Orlando from Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The jet is one of 26 MD-80 aircraft operated by Allegiant Air.
