Buddy Guy performs "Sweet Home Chicago" at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, Texas
My favorite performance of the festival by far. This guy IS blues music. Overflowing with stage presence and personality. Not to mention, backed up by the greatest guitarists the world has ever known. Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan and Hubert Sumlin.

I've seen him in concert and he is AMAZING. Everyone including Hendrix copied from him.

jw2585, Thanks for the Crossroads upload from Texas. I missed that one but have caught the last 2 in Bloomfield IL.
I hope you can make the next on (if it happens), I stay at a hotel that is 1 block from Buddy Guy's club and when Crossroads is in town he is sure to play there with a few special people before the actual festival. Hope to see you there and the drinks are on me!

Guy once recorded one of my songs for an album but the album didn't come out as planned.
It was a short 2:40 second song and he turned it into about six minutes.
I don't know how he got the song because I wasn't shopping it myself but I would love to hear his version.
And I wouldn't care if I got paid or not.
Just to have him like it well enough to try it rocked me.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but -
Clapton, Guy & Santana are the only ones who made it out of the 60s - with the ability to ROCK.

Hey Eric, I need a baby sitter.......didn't have much use for Clapton post Cream, and when he wrote "will I see you in Heaven" about neglecting his child and makes millions from it....seriously, I could easly punch that fuck in the face!
Buddy is ultra smooth and forever an Icon.
sorry to rant, but it pisses me off!

You ever lost a child? Lots of people take their kids for granted. Doesn't make it any easier when they're taken from you. Also, he was well established as a supreme guitarist and singer before that. I don't think all his millions came from that one song. It's a beautiful song. I'm glad he wrote it.

@jw2585 the blues came out of some shitty times. Doesn't look like half that crowd are exactly having "the blues" like many of these blues greats did.
