AU postpones donor summit on Somalia famine
An African Union meeting on the famine in Somalia has been delayed for two weeks.
The emergency summit was scheduled for August 9, but officials say that this leaves insufficient time for all heads of state to gather.
The famine, however, is now spreading.
Half a million children are on the brink of starvation and the two regions where famine has been declared in Somalia are controlled by the Islamist group al-Shabab.
The UN says that about two million people in these regions cannot be reached and there are claims that large numbers of them are being held against their will.

Nobody is going to rush to help them now.
The last time this happened aid was sent and the warlords & gangs would raid it.
When UN troops were sent to stabilize the situation and ensure the aid got to the civilians there were attacks on the troops, ultimately escalating to the the Black Hawk Down incident where everyone came out of the woodwork to take potshots at the troops.
So now people are once again starving in the Horn of Africa. Big fucking surprise.

That's hard to watch.
I can't imagine the women would 'knowingly' put themselves and a child through that on purpose. Why would they get pregnant only to have it starve to death?
Where's the fathers? You never see men in the videos.

how many emergency summits is the world going to have before it realizes africans are too stupid to see that they do not have the ability to have, support and raise more kids? like roaches and stray dogs, if you keep feeding them they'll never stop doing the same thing over and over.
