Nov 28, 2006 - A dramatic water rescue in a raging river was caught on tape near Boise, Idaho. A woman, her husband and a friend were kayaking on the Payette River. Sarah Cox's kayak flipped and pinned her against a rock on a dangerous rapid. Her husband and friend saw what happened and tried to go by her and help, but couldn't. Rescuers from Boise County and Garden Valley Fire Departments were called in. They tried to take a big raft up to the rapid and get a rope around the woman. That didn't work. One rescuer went up in a smaller raft, grabbed the woman, put a rope around her and then dislodged her. Cox was able to then navigate the kayak to the shore where rescuers then pulled her up to a waiting ambulance. She was taken to the hospital and released.
