SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 30-year-old woman was shot to death with a BB rifle Thursday morning at a Santa Ana home.
Police found the victim unconscious with a small puncture wound in
the upper chest around 11 a.m. in the 1000 block of S. Austin Street,
according to Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.
The woman was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where she was pronounced dead.
A 34-year-old man said he accidentally shot the victim, but Bertagna said police are still investigating.
“At this point, we’re trying to find out if this was an accident or an intentional act,” he said.
The relationship between the suspect and the victim is unknown
