In the meantime, the board is moving ahead with immediate termination citing multiple examples of touching and kissing students.
Shari Clark worked in the Crestview School district for more than a decade. She taught teaching language arts and was an adviser to the cheer leading staff. But now her future as a teacher within the district is in doubt.
Monday evening the Crestview school board gave it's approval to firing teacher Shari Clark.
"The investigation began as soon as the allegations were made and we did interview a number of different witnesses, both between staff, students and community members and as a result of that investigation you have the specifications in front of you and the board has made the decision to move forward with termination.", explains John Dilling, Crestview Superintendent.
Some of those allegations, back on May 20th, an employee observed Clark kissing a minor student on the lips. She was also seen after school hours in the girls locker room with a minor female student. A month earlier, Clark's cell phone records logged over four Thousand minutes of conversations and text messaging between her and a minor female student.
"The day we brought her in we talked about that and she indicated it was still continuing and that's what we moved to the point we are now.", states Dilling.
Despite all the allegations, several students and co-workers attended the board meeting to offer their support.
"I think she's a good, moral person and I think these allegations are ridiculous.", says Ian Doran, former student.
"I fully support her. Our union fully supports her as well. And they'll be a time where we will address all these allegations.", states Mark Fabian, Clark's co-worker.
Clark did not attend the school board meeting and was not available for comment. Effective on Tuesday, Clark is suspended without pay or benefits. The board is expected to proceed with termination at its next meeting on August 18th.
