Vague memories of that place in the 70s. I seem to remember it being quite like a prison camp with awful food and radiators in the chalets which made a "drip....drip....drip..." noise constantly, ensuring sleepless nights!

Easy to be cynical.
A lot of people and families saved for and got a great deal of pleasure out of these holidays. This was all they could afford and hey, it beats going to Amsterdam and getting pissed for a week (or going to Bali and getting HIV from a tattoo parlour).
