NORMAN — A man accused of biting a 1-month-old girl and sending her to the hospital has been charged in Cleveland County.

Thomas William Culbertson, 22, of Oklahoma City, was charged Friday with four counts of child abuse by injury. He is being held in the Cleveland County jail on $250,000 bail.

Oklahoma City police were called by a Cleveland County Department of Human Services worker after the girl was admitted to OU Medical Center on Oct. 9 with a broken leg, multiple bite marks and a torn rectum.

Culbertson told officers he bit the girl on the foot out of frustration on Oct. 4 and left a bruise. He also said he bit her on the stomach and back of her leg on another occasion, according to a probable cause affidavit.
