[list=1][*]A suicide bomber blew himself up and the whole neighbourhood in an epic blast that left utter and indiscriminate carnage, showing how intertwined the Free Syrian Army and Al-Qaeda have become. These people claim to be protecting the civilians from the government of President Assad, yet they show shocking disregard for the lives and property of civilians. This was today in the city of Deraa (roundabout of Deraa Al-Balad), where the Syrian crisis began with vandalism of government/public property. Many were killed and injured, although accurate figures are not yet available.

The blast is described in a news article which refers to resident's accounts of how the car pulled up by a military checkpoint and exploded, leaving a huge crater in the ground in the Rowdha district. This crater can be seen in the video. The woman filming the scene also mentions that this is Rowdha. She also states the date as in the article.

Islam says that if someone dies while genuinely fighting to protect his nation, then he will go to Paradise. The suicide bombing was invented in the 20th century AD out of misunderstanding of this principle, which is in fact a universal Golden Rule even for those who do not follow any religion at all, since the defence of one's nation is universally honoured. The misunderstanding arose in the region known as Al-Sham, which includes Palestine/Israel, Jordan and Syria, after the state of Israel was founded. The suicide bombing became a form of resistence to Israel by despairing Arabs who had been driven out of their lands. However, Islam also states that the person who kills himself will go to Hell! (Please note: it is probably unwise to say this to the face of any person you suspect of being a follower of Al-Qaeda for hopefully obvious reasons.)

Militarisation and arming of the Syrian crisis is immoral, and the problems cannot be solved except by dialogue between government and opposition. The government has accepted by refenderum to change the constitution to allow multi-party rule. The opposition must come to the table to avoid devastating bloodshed and chaos which may not be contained with the borders of Syria alone.[/*][/list]
