The man who is likely to be Alabama’s next chief justice is warning
that God will continue to punish America until same sex marriage and
abortion are outlawed.
Speaking to around 100 anti-abortion supporters at the Stand Up for
Religious Freedom rally on Saturday, former Alabama Supreme Court Chief
Justice Roy Moore said that "Satan is out to destroy everything that God
has created."
"This is not just about religion, this is about law; the organic law
of our country," the candidate explained. "When they pretended to give
the right of choice to that woman, they took away the right of life to
that child."
Moore added that Satan was also "convincing many in our land that
they can form a marriage between the same gender. My, how God must be
sad about this. He has a controversy with the inhabitants of this land,
and until we reject those evils, we shall suffer accordingly."
"We wonder why we’re suffering economically, why we’re suffering
economically, why we’re suffering the moral decay, and now they want to
take away that natural union between a man and woman that’s called
family."
The Alabama Court of the Judiciary was forced to strip Moore of the
chief justice title in 2003 because he rejected a federal court order to
remove his Ten Commandments monument from the state courthouse, and now
that he is running again, many Republicans in the state "are privately
despondent over the prospect of a Moore victory and its effect on the
state’s image," The New York Times reported on Sunday.
Earlier this year, Moore told conservative talk show host Steve Deace
that secular government would eventually lead to Islamic law in the
United States because “a government that is denying God” allowed Sharia
law to take hold.
Moore's entire speech at the Stand Up for Religious Freedom rally is available here.

@BanAbraham ...proLifers should stop screaming and instead, offer to adopt all of the unwanted babies in America. That, however, requires courage and committment. Screamers usually lack both!

I'd say he's already doing it.
When God wanted to punish Egypt, he sent locusts.
When he wanted to punish America, he sent the Republicans.

So, so far, the Republicans have told us that:
- Rape babies are god's gift to women,
- Children should expect the death penalty for disobeying parents,
- Raped women can self-abort pregnancies using vagina voodoo,
- HPV vaccines make teenage girls slutty,
- Abstinence-only education is effective,
- Stem cell research = killing babies.
Why does anyone with more than 60 IQ points listen to them?

because a litteral approach to religion requires the individual to have no more than 60 IQ.

Here are two question for the "liberal approach to religion".
How did the universe come into being?
Where did the matter that it formed from come from?

You have broken the first commandment of discussion!
Thou shalt not commit logical fallacies!
Your logical fallacy is the fallacy of personal incredulity.
Because you found something difficult to understand, or are unaware of how it works, you made out like it's probably not true.
This in order to attempt to create a scenario where you hope to be able to exploit another logical fallacy; the strawman fallacy. With which to attack your opponent, scoring cheap points from argument More..

Don't act as if you understand and others don't.
I am asking you this question to be answered based on scientific facts.
No Bible or other texts are required for support.
Just answer me the two questions.
You don't have to quote any religious texts just straight science.

lets get this straight.
you want me to give you the scientific reasoning behind the big bang theory.
You're asking another person to bring you an answer you can go find yourself.
I'm forced to ask; how old are you?
You're going to have to do that yourself, like a big boy. Might I suggest a visit to your local library, swing by the science->astronomy->physical cosmology section.
You're looking for books on 'the standard cosmological model'.
As for "quoting religious t More..

Hard right wing ideology always brings the wack jobs out of the wood work.
Just like Islam, though, these folks will become stricter, and stricter, as a result of religious 'competition'. Unfortunately, because the Republican party took these folks on for votes, the core fiscally conservative ideals of this
party will soon be drowned out by the very worst element of humanity.

this is why america is doomed.
the minute you allow religion to have dominion over the justice system or domestic politics you, as a country, are doomed.
choices, public opinion and ultimatly policy will no longer be a product of free open debate and rational thought.
it'll be about the magic sky faerie and his parthenogenic zombie offspring and someones subjective interpretation of a bronze age story book made up to entertain adults at the bedouin campfire before the age of mass media, radio, More..

Your point is that if God exists why would he punish Japan and other countries.
If God does not exist then what is the reason for those catastrophes?

It's a common mantra that runs throughout christian people and nearly all the religious. Jerry Falwell said the exact same thing just hours after 9/11 when the cell phones were still ringing under the smouldering rubble; he declared that "god brought this attack on America, because it allowed abortion, sexual deviancy and gay marriage."
Look deep into a christian, you'll find the same shit, even in the neighbour that you thought you knew.

Lunatics like this have more in common with the Taliban than with the rest of sane society.
And what is REALLY scary is this guy has the power to throw you in jail for many years if you end up in his court and he thinks you don't abide by HIS religious laws.
