Two wounded Rochester police officers duck for cover in an apartment building hallway as a gunman who shot them flees in a surveillance video released by a judge.
Justice David Egan released the recording after 22-year-old Nixon Elian was convicted Tuesday of trying to kill officers Daniel Brochu and Luca Martini. They survived but haven't returned to full-time duty since the December 2009 shooting.
The video shows a female robbery victim bolting from the apartment just before the officers are shot. Elian runs down the stairs after the shooting. The building superintendent is seen applying pressure to Brochu's leg wound.
Elian was found guilty of nine felonies involving the home invasion and shooting. He could be sent to prison for 40 years to life when he's sentenced Jan. 6.
