Richard McTear, Jr. faced a Hillsborough County judge today.

He is being charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, battery, burglary and kidnapping, as well as several charges of battery, child abuse and false imprisonment from previous warrants.

McTear, 21, was arrested Tuesday hours after beating his former girlfriend, Jasmine Bedwell at her apartment and throwing her four-month old son to the ground.

Authorities said McTear then left with the baby, later throwing four-month old Emanuel Wesley out his car window.

The baby boy's body was found along Interstate 275 near Fowler Avenue.
