Gene and his partner of 24-years, former Playboy model Shannon Tweed, joined the growing trend for his and hers plastic surgery, letting cameras film the gruesome details of their recent facelifts for their show Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

"I'd thought about it before," the 57-year-old musician told People magazine. "I was aware I had jowls."

Top Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr Frank Ryan performed the operations, which usually cost clients upwards of 40,000 dollars (£20,387) each.
