You know, it's amazing what you can learn when you have the right information. Sometimes, the ability to get the right information, is right under your nose. Be careful what information you give to whom, as it can really bit you in the ass.

Most organisations have a severe interest and investment into information that you might think they are not using. From my experience in IT, I can say that the vast majority are surprised that information about them is compiled and used, to the extent that it is. Also, that this information, when compiled as a dossier on individuals, is as vast and insightful as it is. These organisations rely on the fact that most people don't keep tabs on what they submit to online systems, and therefore, do not have a history of what information is supplied to whom.
And as I have explained to someone recently, "no, they don't owe you squat, including the truth". Heck, Bernard Madoff obviously told his investors he was legit.
Qualified sales leads, and the behaviour of people, is very big business these days. Computers are $200. They can analyse patterns and archive all kinds of information, wilfully submitted to online applications. Look up "data mining" on Wikipedia.org to see what I mean.
Buyer beware, even if the product is "free". And start opening your eyes to what COULD be, not to what your current perception is. Less..
