At least 5 ambulances were needed for this accident this morning at the Dieppe Traffic Circle just after 8 A.M. . A car rear ended a Van from the Westmorland Institute carrying 4 inmates by the Lewisville on ramp. Moncton Fire and Codiac R.C.M.P. responded to the collision and once Police found out there were inmates in the van additional backup was needed. Air bags were deployed in the car and the driver was transported to hospital. The 4 inmates were back boarded and as ambulances were arriving they were being transported to hospital, as Police waited for supervisors from the Prison to arrive on scene. Traffic was backed up coming off of Highway 15 into Dieppe and Moncton during rush hour and Police were still on scene at 9 A.M. Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash and 1 tow truck was needed. R.C.M.P. were escorting the prisoners to the hospital as well as being on scene of the accident.
