To mark the celebration of the 82nd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), the People's Republic of China Embassy hosted a dinner reception at the Sheraton Utama Hotel
The guest of honour was Brigadier General (U) Dato Paduka Hj Mahmud, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Among the attendees at the reception were Madam Tong Xiaoling, China's Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and Senior Colonel Zhang Yan, Defence Attaché at the Chinese Embassy.

Also present were other foreign dignitaries and officials from RBAF. The highlight of the event was the cutting of the cake to mark the celebration of the 82nd anniversary of the founding of China's People's Liberation Army followed by a souvenir presentation by Madam Tong Xiaoling to Brigadier General Dato Paduka Hj Mahmud.
