an interesting look at an US Army Film from 1951 (?) detailing the 'new' weapon' in their arsenal - the A Bomb.
Exercise Desert Rock at Yucca Flats in Nevada was commisioned so that troops could get a look at this new weapon so they could see how safe it was - and how they could walk through the blast zone not too long after the blast without suffering any ill-effects .. indeed, their wrist watches were emitting more radiation than the bomb .. surely nothing bad could befall them ...
