Joe Kittinger's 1960 Jump - Revisited
The timing seems right for a revisitation of Joe Kittinger's famous jump in 1960. Having reached a height of 15km in a fighter jet, Dr Iain Stewart recounts military pilot Joe Kittinger's 1960 balloon ascent to and jump from 31km above the Earth. Also a little educational info about the upper atmosphere.

This does remain the longest freefall in history. That record was not broken. Others were such as altitude and speed.
