Ramadan and Jewish new year beginning on same day
The holy Islamic month of Ramadan started with evening prayer on Wednesday in Jerusalem and will see the beginning of fasting on Thursday, coinciding with the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah which is to be celebrated also the same day.
