An Avalanche of Insider Stock Selling

What's the "message" of the market here? Over the last two weeks corporate insiders have dumped over $2.1 billion in stock vs. $73.1 million in buys. I'm not sure I've ever seen the ratio of insider sells vs. buys this skewed toward officers and directors looking for the exit door. Talk about the captain jumping into the lifeboat and speeding away before the ship sinks....

Given that the trailing, "as reported" price/earnings ratio is now 144, or substantially above the peak p/e ratio on the Nasdaq at the top of the tech bubble, what is the market trying to tell us?

Think about that when you call up your financial advisor or broker and tell him you want get out of the stock market.

  • The dollar is going to crash, and/or Isreal is going to hit Iran, which will shut the strait of hormuz and send the price of crude through the roof, as well as affecting other trade/commodities. Its definately engineered, and not normal market behavior.

  • This is BS. In too many ways to take the time to elucidate. Suffice to say it's propaganda from either a) people who make money shorting the market, b) socialists who want the economy to tank so they can - they think/hope - put a socialist tyranny over the nation, or c) all of the above.

    The stocks I'm closest to have been seeing heavy insider buying.

    The stock market has been politicized by these socialist creeps, so take anything you read or hear about it with a grain of salt, and do your More..

  • Is that chart from 1935 to today? WTF is that about, I dont see anything on it that says it is for two weeks. The market already tanked and bottomed out, or have you been not paying attention the last year and a half.

  • The reality is: Insiders get their stocks without having to buy them. It's often part of their salary or bonus, etc. I'll let you figure that equation out while I sort through all the cash i made this week by not believing this kind of bullshit. sucker!
