New Brunswick man accused of spitting toilet water at police during arrest

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A New Brunswick man was charged Sunday after fighting with and spitting a mouthful of toilet bowl water at police officers, authorities said.

Shawn Holland, 27, was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday after police responded to a home at 222 Livingston Ave., Lt. J.T. Miller said. Officers arrived there to find him fighting with several males, who told police that Holland had tried to break into their home.

When questioned, Hill began to assault the officers and was arrested, Miller said. He then allegedly tried to kick out a rear window in the police cruiser.

After arriving at headquarters, Hill drank water out of a toilet bowl and spat at officers, police said. He was charged with resisting arrest, terroristic threats, criminal mischief and assault with a bodily fluid.

His bail status was not immediately clear Monday.
