Traffic Collision With Rollover Caught On My Dash Cam
 Part of channel(s): Liveleakers (promoted)

I finally captured something on my drive home this evening that I could contribute. This was filmed on my iPhone that I use as a dash cam. Luckily, everyone involved walked away with just minor injuries. It's my first post, so I hope it uploads properly. Enjoy.

  • Left turn driver is at fault. Speeding car passing on right contributory, but not at fault. Speeding car should drive more defensively to watch out for such bad drivers. Just my opinion. IANAL

  • Good on you for stopping to see if he was okay.

  • The corolla actually did the right thing...you stop behind the line if you can't cross the intersection, wouldn't want to get stuck in the middle of the intersection when the light turns red.

It's the polite thing to do.
For most people, what is beyond the hood of their car isn't important. Everything happening out there around them doesn't matter. They don't think about the other drivers, like the ones blocked in when you stop in the middle of a fucking intersection.
They don't think about using a turn signal for the benefit of others, no matter you've been waiting to pull out and turn left, you COULD have pulled out in front of me had I been thoughtful enough to pr More..

oh you left 2 car spaces between you and the car in front of you? youre driving slowly i will overtake around you back into your lane in front of you even tho theres another 20 cars ahead of us

Yes, but in this case the dumbass who stopped before intersection was the one not paying attention. You could clearly see further ahead that the traffic WAS moving, and he'd wouldn't even have to stop in the intersection.

On top of that, the other idiot making a left, should be waiting in the middle of intersection, so he could make that left when the light turns red, in case nobody lets him in.

Hmmmm..... WHY did you leave 2 full spaces between yourself and the car in front when you're at a crawl in traffic? :)
Doing that stretches out the traffic jam as far as possible, so it bleeds back into intersections behind you, resulting in situations like shown in this video.
I'm not saying to stay on the ass of the car in front, but in stop and go traffic, the tighter you can keep it the better for reducing the growth of the traffic jam.

  • where was that camera mounted? on your face?

    Posted Feb-25-2013 By

    • @sdmx good one. It's on one of those mounts that suction cups to the windshield. Not great, but gets the job done.

Do you have a link to what mount you are using?

      Posted Feb-26-2013 By

    • @Eternal21 I found it at good old Bad Buy, I mean Best Buy. Something similar to this:

      http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-Universal-Windshield-Smartphones-including/dp/B003SE6LD0/ref=sr_1_52?ie=UTF8&qid=1361906252&sr=8-52&keywords=dashboard+iphone+mount

This is a little shaky though, I'm going to look for something with a solid arm instead of a flexible arm.

  • What the hell is wrong with people on here? The corolla that stopped at the green light was perfectly not at fault. Has anyone ever seen the signs 'do not block intersection'? Looks to me like the cars in front of him across the intersection came to a stop so that driver, planning in advance, unlike most, came to a stop at the light as to not block the intersection in case the light turned red. This is something that should be known and prevents any type of gridlock. Let's get it together pe More..

    • @avi8or The person turning left is obviously more at fault but there was room for that car to not block the intersection and traffic was stopped for a very small time and you could see it was clearing.

When it's obvious you can't make the light stopping like the Corrola did makes sense but not for an incredibly small and quick traffic flow interruption as in the video. There is being courteous and law abiding and there is just making things more dangerous for yourself and confusing to others More..

I understand where you are coming from for sure. However, looking at the video again, it looks like the Corolla driver was trying to determine if he could make the intersection due to the traffic across the way as he is moves then stops then starts to move again. By the final movement it seems it was too late and the left turn car had already started to go. Just a messy situation in all.

    • @avi8or Dorbie thumbs us both down which makes no sense since you are politely disagreeing with me.

I asked him about it on his page nicely then he deleted the comment. Shows what kind of guy he is I guess. LOL.

  • What an idiot.

    Posted Feb-25-2013 By

  • Apparently, many LLers don't know how to drive. When you have a circular left turn light, you yield to the cars traveling in the opposite direction. That means you turn when it's safe to turn. Only person at fault is the dumbass who was turning.

  • 6CNF127 is the fuckwad to blame the accident. Could have proceeded instead of stopping at green to avoid setting off chain reaction of confusion.

    Posted Feb-26-2013 By

    • @DrCartoon 6CNF127 could not have proceeded without blocking the intersection, which is illegal.

    • @osudeltau repeated braking, the front tires was already on crosswalk, left brake out, and the car is at an angle that is not straight....we got a problematic driver that can cause others to have an accident.
