Suspect Charged In West Chester Student Murder
Philadelphia Police have charged a suspect in connection to the death of a pregnant West Chester University student.
Police said 19-year-old Tyrell Hart was charged Friday morning with the murder of 21-year-old Selene Raynor.
Raynor's body was found Thursday evening in a jeep at Ridge Avenue and Newkirk Street, just blocks from her home in the Strawberry Mansion section. The pregnant West Chester University senior had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the face.
According to police, Raynor had been reported missing Wednesday night after she failed to return home.
On a Facebook group page set up to memorialize her, Raynor was described as a "well rounded, good student."
Investigators said Hart was apparently a male acquaintance of Raynor.
Hart has been charged with Murder, First Degree Murder of an Unborn Child and other related offenses.
The investigation continues.
