Through oppressive deprivation of First Amendment rights the US federal government is setting the ground for an inglorious civil unrest.

Los Angeles, January 15 - starting about 24 hours ago, a "rumor"/"story" has been circulating on the web, that Paypal blocked funds (>$40.000) in the account of Tea Party activist Sheriff Mack. The money was apparently designated for a conference.


At this time, the same story appears in numerous sites:

[*]Most common is a note starting, "I just spoke to Sheriff Mack and was advised that PayPalhas frozen that portion of the funds donated through PayPal ($40000+) for the ..." [1]
[/*][*]The Youtube video says, "Sheriff Richard Mac on Pastor Butch Paugh's GCN radio show on 01.12.2012, about a $46,000 frozen Paypal Account, warning to others about the problems using paypal on a large scale." [2]

However, Google queries fail to provide any hits from "mainstream" corporate media. [1]


Such a fuzzy situation calls for some educated guesses:

• Is it possible that Paypal did such a thing? Sure, they did it before to Wikileaks...
  
[*]Is it possible that "mainstream" media engage in a blackout? Sure, the New York Times gave you notice, specifically stating that it was intimidated following the Wikileaks episode, and would not publish information detrimental to the banking industry... [3]

The prevailing conditions, reflected in these speculations, show how low we have gone in deprivation of the freedoms of speech, press, and assembly, which are quintessential for Civil Society.


This treatment was not reserved for the Tea Party, either. Events surrounding Occupy events show:

• Denial of the basic freedoms of speech and assembly in numerous locations, often through the application of excessive force.
  
• Initial blackout by mainstream media, and concerted efforts to block on-site streamline broadcasts.
  
[*]Censorship by Google, at US agencies request, of Occupy videos, posted on Youtube by Russia Today. [4]
[/*][*]Infiltration by undercover police. UC Irvine Prof Erwin Chemerinsky called such surveillance very troubling because it �risks chilling free-speech activity,� while acknowledging that he was not in line with the courts in this matter. [5]

The case of freezing Wikileaks' funds by banking institutions, and even more so the intimidation of the New York Times, also show that all realize that the courts would defer in such matters to banking-government interests.


Corruption of the state and US courts has been one of the least covered aspect of the current crisis. [6] It has been repeatedly documented that the US courts have adopted a policy, denying the right to file petitions, in cases related to judicial corruption. [7] Access to Federal Grand Jury is denied as well.


Denial of these basic rights makes the current crisis more likely to escalate. Previously, many were calling for a Constitutional Convention, [8] hoping for a "Glorious Revolution", or conflict resolutions as practiced in Quebec. [9] Such peaceful transitions could only take place in societies that are fundamentally committed to some level of civility, including, but not limited to the freedoms of speech, assembly, press, freedom to file petitions, and some integrity in the electoral process.


Now, it appears more practical for the dissenters to study the causes, conduct, and outcomes of the Civil War. [10]


The dissent movements, from Constitutional Convention, through Birthers, Tea Party, and Occupy to the Montana Freemen, have more in common than they realize. Through oppressive deprivation of First Amendment rights the US federal government is setting the ground for an inglorious civil unrest.
