Tourist Killed in a Jet Ski Tubing Accident

Lake Cotia, Rio do Fogo, Brazil, 15 January 2011 - An instance of reckless that ended in death. A 47-year old woman was hit by a float pulled by a high speed jet ski. Other bathers on the beach tried to help the victim, but she died on the way to hospital. The cause of death was head trauma.

The pilot of the jet ski - who fled the scene, but later reported to the police - claimed that the rope broke and caused the accident, but on the video you can clearly see this was not the case.

Operating jet ski closer than 200 meters to the shoreline is prohibited in Brazil.
