CCTV:Last year, a California woman literally died in a hospital emergency room waiting to receive treatment.

Since then, Los Angeles County has been fighting the release of security camera video that shows the incident as it unfolds.

Now the Los Angeles Times has received a copy of the video sent anonymously.

The arrow points to Edith Isabel Rodriguez in or adjacent to the wheelchair.

She falls to the floor of the emergency room in the now closed King Harbor Medical Center.

This was a year ago May 9th as the video continues you see hospital employees, including a custodian with a mop, going around the woman, but not helping her.

You do not see it on this video, but a friend went outside to a pay phone to call for help.

Rodriguez had come to the hospital with stomach pains, only to be released, and to collapse on the sidewalk outside. Police brought her to the emergency room, where, unattended, she would die.

Amid other long-standing problems over management and care, the hospital ended up being closed.

Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks says "I would hope that as we move forward in trying to return that hospital to full service, that we do not have other incidents such as we saw in the video."

Though this is the first time we are seeing this video, accounts of the incident had generated outrage and at least three lawsuits against la county.

This video appeared today on the L.A. Times website.

The accompanying report by Charles Ornstein stated that excerpts of the video were sent anonymously to the newspaper.

Rodriguez lay on the floor some 45 minutes.
