Police have arrested four people accused of stealing an estimated $100,000 from several Scottsdale ATMs.
The thefts happened at three hotels over the course of two months, according to a Scottsdale police news release on Friday.
Authorities said the suspects inserted a device into the ATM card readers, and with the help of computer hacking equipment, manipulated the internal programming to cause the ATMs to dispense cash.
During the series of thefts, police said one of the ATMs was physically stolen.
The four suspects are identified as 32-year-old Onik Darmandzhyan, 32-year-old Michael DeMatteo, 24-year-old Tiffany McGrath, and 30-year-old Alissa Kerr.
The thefts happened at the Marriot near 3rd and Brown avenues, the Hilton near Scottsdale Road and Lincoln Drive, and the Hyatt near 75th Street and Doubletree Ranch Road.
Surveillance video helped link the suspects to the crime, as did several confidential sources, according to police.
Search warrants at three different locations turned up the remains of the stolen ATM, skimming devices, altered credit cards and other evidence linking this group to the crimes.
The suspects face charges including burglary, computer tampering and identity theft.
